Children & Families
Sensory Friendly Day
Dates: September 24, 2023
Time: 8-11 a.m., guests are welcome to stay all day!
Cost: $10 per person / FREE for Dallas Zoo Members
The Dallas Zoo will be open early for families to explore the zoo without the noise, crowds, and sensory stimuli of a typical day. Families will enjoy exploring nature through fun and inclusive sensory-friendly activities developed by the Dallas Zoo and its partners.

Homeschool Day
Date: October 17, 2023
Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: $10 per person / FREE for Dallas Zoo Members
Take a STEMwalk with us at the Dallas Zoo and discover math all around us. Together we’ll explore patterns in nature, numbers behind scientific topics, and practice thinking like a scientist.
3 to 8 years
WildLife Heroes Club
Dates: Sundays, 10/22-12/10 (except Thanksgiving week)
Time: 9-10:30 a.m.
Cost: $170 per child/$150 for Dallas Zoo Members
Children (3 to 8 years) and their parents will meet once a week to forge a connection with nature and each other. Zoo habitat observations, close-up animal interactions, hands-on illustrative activities, and conservation-related take-home journals provide opportunities for young children and their adults to build environmental consciousness while collaborating with others who share their interests.
10 months to 35 months
Stroller Buddies
Dates: Every Wednesday 10/18-12/6 (except Thanksgiving week)
OR Every Saturday 10/21-12/9 (except Thanksgiving week)
Time: 9-10:30 a.m.
Cost: $170 per child/$150 for Dallas Zoo Members
Toddlers (10 months to 35 months) and their caregivers will love this 6-week program designed to strengthen their attachment to one another while taking their first steps to connect and learn about nature. Options are Wednesdays or Saturdays for your adventure.
3 to 5 years
Friday Safari
Dates: 9/8-12/8, no class Thanksgiving week
Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cost: $500 per child/$450 for Dallas Zoo Members
Preschoolers (3 to 5 years) are welcome to this drop-off program. Each Friday for 13 weeks, preschoolers can explore the Zoo with our instructors and learn about the world around them through stories, observations, animal interactions, and play.
5 to 8 years
Thursday Safari
Dates: 9/7-12/7, no class Thanksgiving week
Time: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cost: $500 per child/$450 for Dallas Zoo Members
School-aged learners (5 to 8 years) are welcome each Thursday to this drop-off program. Animal visits, observations, and stories will inspire exploration of concepts through art, STEM activities, active games, and conservation activities.
Required
Education program participants in drop-off programs must be completely toilet trained (meaning not wearing pull-ups, able to manage his/her own clothing, and not requiring assistance in the bathroom).
Cancellation & Refund Policy
All education program sales are final. No refunds will be given for cancelled reservations or withdrawals. An education program credit may be issued based on circumstance. Credit will not be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of start date or for no-shows. All programs will take place rain or shine. The Dallas Zoo reserves the right to cancel or change any program for reasons we deem appropriate. In the event that we cancel your program, a credit will be issued and individuals will be contacted directly.
